The Design Center is home to Matterhorn’s award-winning Landscape Design and Construction firm, which combines the knowledge of designers and nurserymen with the expertise of skilled craftsmen. Specializing in the installation of perennial, shrub and tree plantings, as well as all types of patios, decks, ponds, walkways, walls, and driveways, our Design Teams are equipped with the most advanced machines and tools in the industry. Matterhorn can help you realize the most complex plans, on the most difficult sites. Once your ideal garden is in place, our professionals are available to answer questions regarding its care, including watering, mulching, fertilizing and pruning.

The Matterhorn Landscape Design Consultation
Our consultation takes about an hour. During the consultation, we typically walk through the garden areas of your property with you and answer any questions you may have. For example, we might discuss possible plant choices for specific areas, the shaping of garden beds, any garden structures you’d like to add to your garden. Matterhorn Landscape Design Installations
The Matterhorn Landscape Division plans and implements many noted installations. In New York City, Matterhorn’s Garden Designs at the Rockefeller Center Show served as the backdrop for the Today Show. Most recently, Macy’s has chosen Matterhorn to design and install the Macy’s Flower Show 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005. The Landscape Division has won numerous awards including the Best of Show at the New York Flower Show, the Outstanding Landscape Awards presented by the New York State Nurserymen Association and, in 1996, two Environmental Landscape Awards from the Perennial Plant Association. In 1997, Matt and Ronnie Horn received the Home & Garden Showplace Award for the Eastern Region Garden Center Owner of the Year and Matterhorn captured the Best Overall Garden Award from the National Landscape Association. 1998 honors include two awards from the National Landscape Association: one for Residential Garden Feature and a second for Residential Outdoor Living Area. Other awards include the 1998 Rockland County Green Business Award in recognition of Matterhorn’s actions to improve and protect the environment and the 2001 Rockland County Economic Development Award for improving economic development. Matterhorn is honored to be the site of the David Austin Rose Garden of the United States. This three-acre formal garden is open to the public as a showcase for David Austin Roses. Other landscape design projects include the 2002 US Open at Beth Page State Park, New York. Matterhorn was recently awarded the prestigious 2004 "Environmental Improvement" Award presented by Association of Landscape Contractors of America.
